04 Mar You Ask me Why I Buy Rice and Flowers …
… I buy rice to live and I buy flowers to have something to live for (Confucius)
It’s funny that people should say that it’s easy to cook rice, that anyone can prepare it. Ha, ha! Lighting the stove and putting the pan is easy, but the rest is very difficult. If you want to make a delicious dish, obviously.
Like Miguel Hernández I’m from Orihuela (in the Valencian Community):”his town and mine”. I must add a photo of my beloved hometown. It’s unbelievable that the computer doesn’t know who we are !!I can spot a good rice dish from a great distance; and a bad one also. People from the Valencian Country are very lucky to have rice as part of their culture. We appreciate it and even many of us know how to cook it as it ought to;)

Moros y Cristianos ( literally in English Moors and Christians)
Here we have hundreds of delicious ways to make rice. They’re equally appetizing. I couldn’t pick and choose. I would eat one rice dish every day! Look at this crusty rice from Casa Corro restaurant in Orihuela. It’s sheer ambrosia.
How could it be outdone? We are by the Mediterranean . Not surprisingly we share this culture of rice. I feel very proud of what my mother and grandmother tought to me about cooking; their recipes has been handed down from generation to generation. I belong to a long generation of excellent cooks . They have conveyed to me the love of cooking and entertaining those who visit our house. Our home is yours. You’ll feel at home at Neptuno. If not, go back and come in again slowly, devoting more attention to this and you’ll see how good the feeling is!
Bon appetite!
Best wishes!
